Among others, the investors Baloise, 10x, Project A and 42CAP recently relied on the expertise of the boutique law firm with offices in Berlin, Hamburg and Cologne. Just a few days ago, the law firm was once again named the most active venture capital firm in the DACH region in Q1 2021 based on an analysis by PitchBook.

- Baloise invests in KUNO

While working at SMP, Stephan Bank, Leonie Hartz and Florian Wilbrink advised the Swiss Baloise Group on its investment in the Berlin-based startup KUNO. KUNO offers companies, especially startups, the entire back-office management from a single source – from finance and accounting to controlling and reporting to HR management as well as payroll. -  10x Group invests in Quantum Systems

While working at SMP, Benjamin Ullrich and Adrian Haase advised 10x Group on its investment in drone startup Quantum-Systems. The company was founded in 2015 and is headquartered at the special airport Oberpfaffenhofen, 20 kilometers west of Munich. According to its own figures, it achieved revenue growth of 155 percent in 2020 and is now increasingly acquiring international customers. The new capital will be used to expand the sales division and increase research and development capacities. 10x Group is a group of serial entrepreneurs and founders that invests in digital startups in Europe and Silicon Valley. - Project A invests in Unmind

While working at SMP, Benjamin Ullrich and Adrian Haase advised Project A on its investment in the digital mental health platform Unmind. In addition to lead investor EQT, Project A, Sapphire Ventures and Felix Capital participated in the Series B financing round which had a volume of $47 million. Unmind is a digital workplace mental health platform that enables employees to proactively measure and manage their mental health through science-based assessments, tools and training. Unmind has already partnered with some of the world's leading employers, enabling organizations to make informed decisions about comprehensive mental health strategies. - 42CAP invests in Superface

While working at SMP, Frederik Gärtner, Stefan Richter and Martyna Sabat advised early-stage investor 42CAP on its investment in Prague-based software company Superface. In addition to 42CAP, Tensor Ventures and Applifting also participated in the financing round. Founded in late 2019, startup Superface is launching a revolutionary low-code solution that replaces months of tedious work with autonomous integration, subsequently connecting businesses in a fraction of a second. The startup's long-term vision is to build a digital service marketplace for AI. It plans to use the funding to finalize the product and expand its team. 42CAP invests in technology-driven startups across Europe. The team built eCircle, one of Europe's largest SaaS companies with $50 million in revenue, and sold the profitable company to Teradata (NYSE:TDC). More information can be found here.

- Sablono's Series A financing round

While working at SMP, a team led by Martin Schaper and Malte Bergmann has provided comprehensive legal and tax advice to Contech champion Sablono as part of its Series A financing round. Sablono, an innovator in digital lean construction technology, is receiving €5.3 million in funding to accelerate its international growth and further expand its position as a leading next-generation platform in the AEC (Architecture, Engineering, Construction) industry. The funding round is led by Thomas Bachmaier, who previously founded and built Thinkproject into a leader in construction intelligence. Sablono's seed investor Nemetschek SE is co-investor in this Series A financing round alongside Bachmaier. More information can be found here.
