Fabian is a private-fund lawyer. He advises managers and advisors of venture-capital funds, buyout funds and funds-of-funds. His work focuses on structuring their funds as domestic or foreign structures and on providing legal support for the fundraising in Germany, the EU und the rest of the world. Fabian drafts the fund documentation and assists with the investor negotiations, sets up carry structures and provides ongoing advice to the managers in all fund-related matters.
In addition, Fabian advises on ESG and impact topics in the funds industry, in particular the SFDR, the Taxonomy Regulation and impact carry structures.
Fabian is a member of the Legal and Regulatory Committee of Invest Europe and a member of the Legal Advisory Board of the German Private Equity and Venture Capital Association (BVK).
Education and Career
Fabian studied law and taxation in Frankfurt/Oder, Münster/Westfalen and Barcelona. Prior to joining YPOG, he worked at SMP and as Counsel at P+P Pöllath + Partners in the Private Funds Team.

- DUBAG Group on the final closing of its third fund Lenbach Equity Opportunities III. with capital commitments of €80 million.
- FLEX Capital on the closing of its second fund totaling €300 million.
- The German venture capital fund La Famiglia on its partnership with the Silicon Valley venture capital group General Catalyst.
- La Famiglia on the closing of its Growth Fund and its Seed Fund III with a volume of more than €250 million.
- Picus Capital Management on the structuring of the venture capital fund Picus Ventures Fund II.
- Vidia Equity on the closing of the Vidia Climate Fund I in the amount of €415 million.
- World Fund, Europe’s rising climate tech venture capital fund manager on the fundraising of its first fund generation aiming to tackle the climate crisis and to helping to decarbonize the planet.
