Carola Rathke advises domestic and foreign banks, financial services institutions and capital management companies on all kinds of regulatory matters as well as on a broad range of investment products. A particular focus is on advising companies using distributed ledger technologies as well as on tokenized (investment) products.
Education and Career
Prior to joining YPOG, Carola worked with her team at the renowned international law firm Eversheds Sutherland. There, she led the Company Commercial Practice Group and was part of the German Management Committee.
Experience
Prior to joining YPOG, Carola's recent experience at Eversheds Sutherland includes the following matters:
- Advising numerous international as well as national companies on BaFin proceedings, in particular license applications, ownership control procedures and special audits.
- Negotiating outsourcing agreements for several banks and financial service providers
- Advising various platforms on the issuance of STOs as well as NFTs
- Advising asset management companies on the launch and distribution of investment funds (UCITS and AIF)
- Advising crypto exchanges on the regulatory qualification of crypto tokens
- Advising banks and e-money institutions on the issuance of stable coins
