Berlin – A YPOG team co-led by Benjamin Ullrich and Emma Peters provided comprehensive legal advice to Dresden-based robotic software company Wandelbots on its latest financing round. The Series C financing has a total volume of $84 million and increases Wandelbots’ total funding to over $123 million. New York-based venture capital and private equity company Insight Partners, which has invested in companies such as Blinkist, N26, HelloFresh, BlaBlaCar, Twitter and Shopify, joined as a new investor. In addition, existing investors 83North, Microsoft, Next47, Paua, Atlantic Labs and EQT also participated in the financing round.
Wandelbots' no-code approach allows application experts to teach their robots independently without the need for coding skills. An initial product, Wandelbots Teaching, removes the barrier to programming robots with easy-to-use software interfaces, and the hardware-agnostic software platform allows for one centralized interface for all robots. Wandelbots Teaching enables companies of all sizes to easily work with robots on their shop floors. Wandelbots will use the new funding to open its Robotics Software Platform to automation solution providers and third-party developers to create a compelling developer community. The opening will enable developers to build their own robotics applications on top of a manufacturer-agnostic control plane. Wandelbots also plans to use the funding to scale its flagship teaching solution to support more robots, applications, and regions worldwide, expand its global footprint, accelerate hiring and build go-to-market organizations in the US and Asia.
