Berlin – While working at SMP, members of the YPOG team advised Revent Capital (Revent) on the structuring of its impact-focused venture capital fund "Revent Ventures I" with a target volume of 50 million Euro. Among the anchor investors are Benjamin Otto, who already co-financed the two well-known German funds e.ventures and Project A, as well as other prestigious entrepreneurs and investors from Berlin, such as Verena Pausder (Fox & Sheep), Sascha Konietzke (Contentful), Max Tayenthal (N26) Luis Hanemann (e.ventures), Benjamin Roth (Urban Sports Club) and Florian Heinemann (Project A). Going forward, Revent intends to attract additional institutional investors to back its impact-focused venture capital fund. The Revent team received comprehensive legal and tax advice from a team led by Stephan Bank.
"With Revent, another VC fund with an impact focus enters the European stage, aiming to show that profit and purpose can not only be combined, but that attractive returns can be achieved particularly through socially responsible actions and business activities," says Stephan Bank. "Although the market is still rather young, there is a rapid growth, and investments with an impact focus are becoming more and more important. We are very pleased that we were able to accompany Revent on the launch of its first fund generation and are closely following further developments in the field of impact investing," adds Joel El-Qalqili.
